just wish to pen my findings post-CAI mod
Definitely loving it!!!
On power delivery - certainly smoother rpm climb northwards; low end torque better due to better unrestricted breathing.
On noise - difference hardly noticeable - mayb missing the previous 'educated' growl as the resonator was tuned for but diffrence is indeed too minor.
On FC - this is most apparent; pumped twice RM 51 per load (26odd liters) - each time trying to mimic previous driving habits as much as possible. Previously, i will do typically 280km (300km on best days);
I am now reaching 290km (with 2 bars left) - best of all, i did a couple of spirited runs hitting up to 6000 rpm and still achieve such FC
Cheap and effective mod - it freaking works !!!! |

may i ask those taiko or sifu who have installed powerjet on their ride...
as we understand powerjet infuses cold air from the air-cond line into the intake... and today i notice that there is water inside the Cooler [the devide attached to the aircond line].. i removed the filter [the gold filter attached to the powerjet head] and i also discover water inside... both the filter and the head [where we adjust the how much air to take in]
as such i was wondering if powerjet also suck water into our engine besides cold air? hmmm which in my opinion its harmful to our engine in long term.. any comments?????

Bros,
May I know what is this box + pipe called? I can see sawing marks so I believe it's been cut off.
Is this the result of K&N drop-in or CAI?
Looks like can mod this fler to water flowers in garden.
Sorry bro kunta pinjam your thread since this is small Q
Thanks

i believes it is a resonator box..
can find it just behind left fog light area..
function.. to keep air resevoir.. for induction
most of CAI modders will remove the resonator box
..& directed the remaining remnant of its pipe from the air box filter
toward the front grill/ behind left foglight..using flexpipe
or something..to encourage cold air entry while crusing..!
removing resonator box will reduce the lenght of air entry.. |

Yup, this is the air resonator box sited under the battery,
The correction sitting position is with the curved pipe upright. The curved pipe is actually the snorkel with the opening facing the front of your ride (rear of headlight casing) and allows air to flow down into the resonator and out again into the air inlet pipe leading to the lower half of the air filter housing sitting on top of the tranny.
I removed the whole box intact yesterday. Now the bottom of the air inlet pipe linked to the lower air filter housing sits naked behind the left-side foglight. |

Hi there, is there a difference between CAI & an intake with drop-in filter ? I mean one is taking in cold air which i learnt frm discussions is good for power/ram-air, while the other has a shorter intake hose & so less air resistance. Which is favourable for power and which is for fc ? Is there a difference ? Hope to learn as much as possible hre. Thanks. |
