Anyone know if this is available for our FD1 & 2?

Quote:

A self-contained elastomeric shock that mounts on brackets between the engine and the chassis. It reduces extreme engine movement and dampens the motion, providing many benefits. The “Stiffy” was originally intended for the sport compact market, but can be used for some Hot Rod applications if it is applied correctly.

Benefits
Greatly improved off-the-line acceleration
Reduced wheel hop
Improved vehicle stability
Reduced shock loads on driveline components
Smoother shifting
Reduced wear on exhaust system joints
Less vibration transmission to the driver compared to polyurethane motor mounts.
Less shock load, compared to torque straps and chains.
Drifting – helps reduce shock loads when wheels gain traction.
Reduces motor movement – decreases the chance of motor parts rubbing against
the hood and frame.
Specifications

Overall length (mount to mount) = 7 inches (+/-1/4 inch adjustment)
Mounting hole size = 10 mm (.3937 … approx. 3/8 inch)
Maximum stroke = +/-3/8 inch (no preload)
Preload adjustment = 0 – 3/16 inch (max stroke = +/- ¼ inch at max preload)
Maximum shock load (momentary) = 2000 lbs.
Maximum continuous load = 500 lbs.
High quality hardened steel reinforced Teflon Heim joints
Body: 6061-T6 Aluminum
Finish: clear silver anodize
Maximum Recommended HP = 500 with Energy Suspension or Solid Mounts

If you ever look at your engine while someone is revving the throttle, you'll see that your engine will twist forward (or some other direction, I can't quite remember). This ETD supposed to prevent the twisting motion, which will translate to the benefits as listed above.

Immediately, an apparent concern is that there may be increased vibration, since the engine is now quite solidly anchored to the chassis (unless they are using some Koni FSD technology - soft when high frequency but hard when low frequency.... Rolling Eyes).

I know some TVCM members already installed, but haven't interviewed them yet. Will be on the lookout for those that can fit on our FD (since mountings are all specific to the engine and chassis).
