Guys, i was hanging with some friends outside the house the other day and i let one of them drives my car around the block. I noticed that the driver side of the headlight (low beam) is noticeably brighter than the other one. My friends noticed this too. I suspect the alignment is not even between the headlights, maybe the right side was aim higher. I tried adjusting the alignment of the headlight under the bonnet but the driver side light is still brighter! Now i'm not so sure if it's alignment problem.

It's more obvious if you stand a few metres in front of the car and kneel down to see. Can any of you guys confirm this? I'm not sure if it's wiring, bulb or alignment issue.

Right side means when you're outside looking in or inside looking out?

On the driver side. If you're sitting on the driver seat then it is the light on your right. However if you're standing outside in front of the car then it's the light on your left. I thought it was aim higher so i lowered it but it's still brighter for some reason.

Did you noticed any difference?

Mine left side (co-driver) is higher. This is normal for right hand drive cars. Brightness is the same as far as I can tell.

Did you install any electrical equipment where wiring is invlolved. Doesnt matter horn or HU or spotlight or whatever. If there is, please check again the grounding wiring. Maybe it not secured properly.

No wiring changes. Anyway here's some pictures taken at various distance to give a clearer idea on what i meant. The last picture is taken furthest away among the three. Of course, the effect is much more obvious when seen through the camera. Would appreciate if anyone can do the same.

errmm .... kinda obvious ... looks like your right side is winking at ppl ...

wat about if you park straight facing a wall and you can see the reflection and exact points of your low and high beam incl. your fog lamp?

i always do that check - and if they are all parallel - there's nothing to be concern .... even the manufacturers align headlamps tat way ...

One suggestion that I can think of is try to check if your Low beam bulb is sitting well in the socket. I have similar issue before when I replaced my bulbs, one of the bulbs was not locked properly in place and that cause the beam to be glaring. Maybe this is not the case for you.

Just wanted to ask a question also, how did you adjust the low beam alignment? I can't find the instuction in the manual.

I think it's lock-in properly in the socket, as far as i can see from the outside.

How much higher would you say it is? Anyway, wouldn't the effect be a longer beam on the passenger side?

i think, most cars are like that, but not as obvious as yours.. coz two set of waves (such as light) can combine with each other to produce a resultant wave.. the way in which this combined wave is produced is called interference, blacks and whites(Young's experiment).. that is why normally, one of it is made much more brighter than the other one..

Yes most cars has high left beam. The right beam is lowered so that oncoming cars are not glared.
