If you browse earlier posting, seems like contradiction views on the lifespan of this plugs. Some say below 50k km, another say up to 100k km. But from my experience that i posted above, i think can go until 100k km.
But if always high rev, might reduce the lifespan la i think |

Hehehe, FD1 easy bro. But for FD2, if the mechanics not exp enough, it might take them 1 hour just to replace the plugs. So for me, alang x2 buka, tukar je la
Anyway it seems that this IK20L really have very high lifespan |

1 Tip for you guy, if you really 1 2 save ur $$$.
U can gap back the end after 20~40k of usage.
I've try many brand & model plug on my older Civic B16 engine.
Denso Iridium can be use for more than 60K if well take care. |

Honda specifies IK20L for the Civics. The number denotes the heat range (optimum working temp of the specific plug). In this case, Intermediate.
IK22 is a Cold plug. This is Not recomended for the Civic unless you turbo charge or done some serious mods like race cams etc.
Using colder plugs will not yield any improvements & may even cause higher FCs.
There are 2 types of Iridium plugs from Denso..Power (IK) & Tough (VK).
IK costs Rm 45 each & VK costs Rm 60 each before installation.
Also beware of imitations. Try to get them from Iridium Club shops as advertised by UMW.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Desmond

Des,
Am considering these plugs and the Bosch Platinum Iridium Fusion Plugs - are these suitable and within the heat range? Does Denso or NGK have these types.
Heard if it is not suitable, then the electronics and ECU will be affected/ shorted? Btw, mine is 2.0 FD2 stock, no mods.
Thks bro. |

Hi Civic_ Rulez,
We carry the Denso IK20L plug which is ideal for your ride. Tested & proven by many bros here.
Have not tried the Bosch nor the NGK yet.
Cheers,
Des

bro Edlim,
It is true that it is harder to install the plugs on fd 2 compared to fd1....to change the plug in fd 2 will be more disembling parts at the front engine part...but in fd1 jus wait till the car cools down, open it, take it out, screw thenew one...jus installed k20l today....quite good response... |
