Just to share.. I went over to a Toyota showroom after work on Friday to take a look at the new Camry. There were 2 models on display, the 2.0G and 2.4V
What I like
1. Front grill like Audi A4/A6
2. Very nice meter cluster design
3. Motorised seat adjusters
4. Backseat reading lights
5. Rear aircon vents
6. Front parking sensors
7. "Breathable" leather seats like those you find in conti cars
8. Nice looking central panel (in my opinion, better then Accord)
9. High central armrest to the central panel that gives you a Merc feel
10. Bridgestone Turanza donuts as standard
11. Big trunk space
12. Back trunk design that looks like a BMW 7 series
13. Heavy and solid door feel
What I do not like
1. Non-foldable backseats, have a small opening to access trunk from font.
2. Engine compartment that looks very empty
3. Engine manifold/cover that looks outdated
4. A piece of white packing foam behind the grill, looks cheapo
5. 4 speed only for the 2.0E and 2.0G
6. Small door handle
Overall, the exterior and interior overall look brilliant but minus points on the engine compartment design. |

Coolride is saying the new model loh~
For me...it will kill the Accord market just like our Civic kill Altis.
Very nice car...less uncle looks and some Lexus design implement it & if mod a bit will have the same feeling as Mark X liou (not the performance of cause ) |

Just to share a car buying experience with my friend. He was looking at the Mark X and I had come along to sibuk. After seeing the Mark X, I couldn't help but agree that the car looks great and the insides were finished luxuriously. He was set on buying one but luckily he just couldn't just find the colour he wanted. I told him to test drive as a final deciding factor. While looking for the colour he wanted, he came across a JDM Accord which he test drove and immediately fell in love. Thinking whether he should wait out for the coulour he wanted, he test drove the Mark X and came away dissapointed. Even with a claimed output of 15ps more and bigger engine the Mark X felt dissapointingly lethargic and not powerful compared to the Accord.
Long story short ...Honda makes better engines and they should bring in the JDM Accord. |

Accord 2.4 sure kena, HM have no stock for it as well as Civic 2.0, they sure kena 'fried kaw kaw like a hot plate of char koay teow.'
Rumor said that the CKD parts for both car are coming in short. Demand is higher than production. Maybe u guys can check it out what r they doing at the Honda Plant; buiding cars or frying char koey teow. I'm sorry i sounded furious cause still waiting for my car for the past 6 months. |

ivanisevic,
Well, I don't believe new accord will lunch in year 2007. Even in USA or other places. There's still only a concept accord for 2008 now. And thrust me, if the new accord is lunch in early 2008 world wide, properly it will arrive malaysia no earlier than 3rd Q 2008. Usually malaysia way, but don't think will change in the coming years.
Modulus,
Omg, you've been waiting for 6 months! you're a nice and patient guy. I wait civic for 5 months with the SA break their promiss for 3 times, I am out. May you get your car soon. |

bro omega,
It took too long to wait for that car. Finally, got it, last month.
'Bout the Accord, i'm a big fan of the Accord as well, i'm waiting anxious to see the result. |

My cent's worth. I'm a Honda fan by the way and in the past I drooled over the practically all the TYpe R cars: Integra Type R DC2 and later the DC5, etc etc.
I did a comparison between the pre-FL and FL Accord and the Camry 05 and Camry 06 including test driving both Accords and the 05 Camry. As for the latest 06 Camry model, I sat passenger in my fren's brand new (5hours old) Camry.
I must admit, the new 06 Camry outclasses the FL Accord espescially in terms of refinement and comfort. I had to reluctantly admit this. The only thing in the Accord's favour is that the 2.0 Accord has cruise control while the Camry 2.0 including the top end 2.0G does not have this option. Even the 4-speed transmission of the Camry 2.0 was not found lacking for acceleration and smoothness.
Arghghgh!!! Honda better launch the FMC (Full Model Change) Accord ASAP!!!! |

Yeah Malaysiam. No not Euro R (CL7) but JDM Accord or also can say the Euro Accord since JDM and Europe have the same model. He got the CL9 2.4with 200ps. He briefly test drove the Marx X first batch I think 02 model. MArx X weighs quite a bit and makes even with 215ps it doesn't move as well as the 2.4 CL9. I think the Euro R is way quicker. He felt the Marx X lost in power even to the CL9.
Refinement/luxury wise he loves the Marx X for it ....way better than the Honda. I felt it was overboard though prrobably because I prefer power.
He bought it with no plate for about 160K |

hmm...rm 160k not a bad deal. Since the JDM model hardly can be found in Malaysia n is much more powerful that our Accord 2.4 by 40 ps at the same road tax. Even currently our Accord selling about rm 160k.
I been always admire the JDM Accord...much nicer & sporty than the Malaysia Accord (actually in JDM it been called Inspire)
The only pb is your friend facing is the spare parts. He have to go Singapore to order the spare parts coz I think in Malaysia is very hard to find them even those used spare parts shop. In Malaysia CL7 & CL9 is much rare compare to DC5 & EP3. |
