If you feel it is expensive, then it is expensive Smile ICE upgrade can go more than the price of the car also mah ... but some feel that it is value for money... cos they appreciate it at such a deep level.

A better question to ask (than "worth it?"), is how does the ICE make you feel? Does it "move" you. Does it make you so happy that you get happy tears Smile Does it make your knees melt, so when you get out of your car, you have trouble walking? Does it make you want to drive very slow, cos you can hear more music in the car? Do traffice jams give you a jolt of pleasure these days -- because you then get to add more music to your life?

hahaha ... these are the kinds of questions that make me feel worth it having invested on ICE.

If I am not mistaken, the Audison Thesis is a 2 channel amp.
I wonder how much it will cost.

yeah bro... thesis hv venti is 2 channel amp.. dun get me wrong thou... my humble personal reference... is 2 channel amp for each output... which means 3 amp is required for 3 way component.. by the way.. nice setup.. the alpine f1 status alone cost more than 10+k?

IMHKNSO, how a system sounds does not 100% depends on the equipment. Figuratively, equipment is only 1/3 of the story. Installation and tuning making up the other 2/3

With the D2 and DLS, it is already one hell of good equipment which you could boost about. My guess of your non-satisfaction is due to the other 2/3 works not done properly

It is the common misconception that the best equipment will give you the best sound. You have already bought one set of reputable equipment. Now it is time to concentrate of the installation and tuning. If you dont get these right, I will bet you "upgrading" to those more expensive equipment wouldn't be your solution

Once you have gotten the installation and tuning right, then when you change to better equipment, you would appreciate the different sonic signature.

I would go back to the installer and let them re-look at the installation and tuning first. If they dont know how to optimise the potential of those equipment, it is time to change installer Very Happy

Yes, agreed with grand ICE masters jelly and hushynushy.
And furthermore IMHO, the Thesis deserves to pair with much better speakers than the Utopias for system matching.
My F#1 Hu was bought at a good price and does not include installation and tuning.
So I got it at less than 10k.

-wolfie- , am new to ICE myself. However, you spend so much, I think you should ask your installer to tune it properly for you. I think it is your right to do so.

If the tuner no hope, go elsewhere and find a better tuner.

Apart from installer, you might need proper sound proofing to compliment the equipements. Laughing I think I've spent more on this alone compared to my Pioneer HU.

my two cents.

I found this article long, but very good. Smile

Especially for ICE newbies like me, it shows how important it is to have a very competent and trustworthy installer who knows where to start for our FD -- it also shows how going by equipment alone may not necessarily produce the best results.
