normally i will press d brake all the way when standstill or goin to move...

Em....i think if ur do like that, there will be drink a lot of petrol.

correct me If im wrong,thanks.

There are certain school of thoughts, that you should not disengage from D to N when at standstill.. stand a higher risk of damaging the transmission over long period of time.

I do not think there is a wastage of petrol btw D n N, as long as you do not rev the engine, the RPM remains almost the same.

I am usually on N gear and don't press brakes during traffic light stops. When push to D the engine will engage immediately, but don't really know if doing this will spoil the transmission...

I had tried a few times on my other car, and had a bad habit of releasing the gear during downhill. when the car starts to slow down, I rev the engine up to approximately the RPM which commensurates with the speed I was going and engage to D (after quite a number of practice Very Happy ) So far *touch wood* my transmission is still okay.

But still dare not do it on my FD.. Razz

Bro, this is not advisable.. not only risk damaging the transmission but bcos your car is in free running and in the event of an emergency.. eg. you need to swirl and avoid an obstacle.. you introduce another step in the hands, eyes coordination.

Bro, unless the jerk is very obvious.. it is normal when engage from N to D, when the gear engage to have a slight jerk.

If there is a like half a second delay is still ok but a few seconds, better check with SC.
