I just finished installing remote trunk release on my FD. I've written this message once but just before I click submit my computer decided to BLUE SCREEN on me.. now a rewrite... haih..

Anyway, got the kit from Singapore. Came with instructions..

Ok here goes some pics..

1. Interface module and open view. Can see 1 IC, 2 transistors, 3 capacitors, 1 diode and 4 resistors and 1 relay. Anybody want to DIY this interface module?

2. Actuator kit. Came pre-bend. Can get the same actuator kit for RM13 from jalan pasar

3. Open the insulation cover of your trunk

4. Open the rear passenger side plastic cover. This is so that you can route a cable from the trunk to front passenger side where the unlock signal wire is

5. Open the front passenger side plastic cover. Cut open the cover to access to the yellow(unlock signal) wire. In this picture I already routed a wire from the trunk as well.

6. Tap your wire from trunk to the yellow (unlock signal) wire

7. Take the actuator rod and hook it to the latch. Simulate locking by pushing the latch in. Measure where the final location of your actuator and drill a hole.

8. Connect the actuator wires with the module interface and the unlock signal. Screw it to the final position. Use double sided tape to stick the other end of actuator and module interface to body.

Press the unlock button twice within 2 sec to open trunk. Cannot click too fast though.. else wont open.

Total damage:
Module Interface + Actuator Kit: RM147
Double Sided Tape: RM9
Wire: RM6
Time: Almost 2 hours. Could very well be faster but I'm newbie work slow.. Very Happy
Total: RM162

bro, I agree that you can probably do this with one or two simple relays. The problem is that you'll want to have a timeframe for your two clicks to take place. Otherwise, press unlock once, then hour later press unlock again and boot will pop.. hehehe... you dont want that right.. that's why you see in the electronic module there is a time control IC. This way only if you click the unlock button twice within two seconds your boot will pop.

If you really want to DIY, look at the picture of the module closely and get the electronic parts from Jalan Pasar.. i'm sure can get all the parts cheap.. like 20 maybe.. Very Happy not many parts really... If my picture not clear, I can open my module again to list the parts properly.. Very Happy good luck!!

BTW I really love this feature.. very convenient..
