hi to all expert..

tested my spare key & confirmed battery already kong.

and then suddenly i realised that i may faced this problem in the future, imagine:-
1. you are out and away from house (so, only got 1 key)
2. after shopping/working/whatever... when u want to off the alarm & open the door... alarm battery kong...
3. so, you open the door manually.... alarm sound.. peng, pong peng, pong...
4. you start the engine and drive....
5. the alarm kept on... peng, pong, peng, pong... silent awhile, then... peng, pong, peng pong... again & again...

so, now what to do?

in proton, they have this special button whereby you can press and the alarm stopped. i dont see any such button in fd.

i know security is a private issue... if it cannot be shared openly, can anyone pm me please...

thank you.

I have the same issue. Long time never use the second key..but my problem is different..i had changed the battery but it still doesn't work. I complained to SC they said they have to retuned the alarm system which will cost arounf RM160...

Moral of the story..don't let your spare key dry out of batery for so long as a result you have to retune the alarm system.

The best way to avoid this problem is to use the car keys on alternate days..

I was exchanging the used of key 2-3 months should be fine. Occasionally, putting too long didn't exchange used , the idle long key may KO , then replace not only battery but one set...a Bomb RM 800 .

Good to exchange them periodically.

I dont understand why different SCs charge different price for de battery replacement, some even dont charge FOC. I paid RM7.65 after 15% discount from RM9. There are members who paid RM10.
How come no std prices or policys from HM. By right if FDs still under warranty it should be FREE.

Checked my spare key this morning, not working anymore. Bought a new battery from a car acc shop, replaced myself but still not working.

Called the SA and told to come to SC to check or maybe need to re-tune. Then b4 go to the SC just to check on the key, replaced back the old battery and test, surprised!! it work again and then tried with the new one and it OK also.

Anyone any idea??
