Dear members,

Just to post an alert in case anyone face the same problem.

After more than 2 yrs+ using the same set of keys, I decided to switch and use the spare set today.

Then I realise that I could not arm/disarm the alarm with the brand new unused set of spare keys.

I then did a swap of the battery with the old set of keys and the spare set works.

So, conclusion, eventhough the spare was not used, the battery somehow has drained and I could not use the spare set.

Better do a check on the spare set and make sure the it is still juice up in case, need to use in emergency.

Cheers

I was one of them if there is a poll going on here. Razz
My advice is to swap keys often so you keep both remotes functional. I am swapping keys weekly. Please make this as a habit or regrets will come and bite you later.

Another thing we need to alert is in the event of disarming the alarm when we are out of the reach of the spare key. My brother was caught when he couldn't disarm the alarm when the RC battery failed (although he could open the door with the key).

yes, i experience this b4, my bro-in-law drove my civic using sparekey, no problem to start engine n drive, but when he stop and use the spare key to lock the door manually, the alarm activated and he cant off the alarm, end-up i have to go there use originaly key to off the alarm, leceh lah.
