Eh.. just for the sake of argument, why FD2R never use Motec ah?
Is it because got no tuner or simply coz its expensive?

for me, IMHO.....simply play safe, for time being reflash is the best opt with proven performance. Flash Pro or motec is better of if u really plan for major upgrade (etc 2.4 block/2.7 stroker kid) or else the ecu is under utilised. No point spending thousands of $ jus for 10hp (....maybe Rolling Eyes ) gained on stock engine.

flash pro is not a new ecu, the ori ecu has to be used. The cost is somewhat similar to the reflashes. Depending on which reflash in the market you are talking about. It doesnt mean reflash is safe as the map can be changed and it is tuned by someone afterall. Same goes for flashpro or motec at that.

when it comes to ecu, Mapping is important. Tuner experiences and maps > how good and expensive the ecu is. (to me that is).

Flashpro can have very safe map too. As for motec, the available tuning points, the flashy and ever important features can be as good as any "play safe" maps you can find and load it.

in short, the maps/tuner > $ on ecu.

Some ppl have plans for big projects, nothing wrong to use say a motec now. U can always use it after a hefty sum spent on the motor and retune a map to suit the motor using the same motec. Smile
no trade in and it is transferable to most cars.

it is true, FI vs NA, $ vs gains, we very often need to spend thousand to extract 10hp Smile Come to think of it,which reflash are you talking about to have cost less than few thousands to gain that puny few ponies.

i still remember the FI days, up the boost, retune with ecu. Horsey horsey come.... Very Happy hehehee, then comes the injectors, fuel pumps, fmic, get rid of the ceramic turbs...and more horseyhorsey.....

well well, your money, your car, your call. Do it your way. life goes on, and happy revving !
Very Happy

ari - i tcss jer...now teach me those stuffs in your blogs and flickr Cool

thanks for correcting me bro, nevertheless, all these mode is for the joy of it, frankly it does make me happier to spend thousand $ getting a new CAI or valve springs or rims (even if .....there is nothing wrong with it to begin with) than getting my wife a designer handbag or necklace or what so ever.....he!...he! Laughing

boy will always be a boy, they cant live without toys to play with
