I'm not very good at FR but here goes:

205/55R16

Noise - Very good.

Performance - Due to softer sidewall, cornerning a bit yoyo feeling. I over inflate it to 235 KPa, it is better.

In short, I think this is good for comfort and a bit of performance. If hardcore performance (like doing a lot of high speed cornering), I think stiffer sidewall donut is better.

This is just my feeling, hope it helps.

Thanx Bro. How is the stability on straight roads? Is it firm enough or is it bouncy?

What about grip on wet?

Straight road no problem.

grip on wet also no problem.

drloysz,

why kena 'katok'? Did they sell you at higher price? or they sell not a good tyre. I am also planning to change my 5 months NCT 5.

I guess we are in the same area....

I've used PP2, now on C1S. Both got different charachter. PP2 I think has less grip on wet, C1S is more confident on the wet.

I know I might kena whack for saying this -- but in my experience -- PP2 is quieter. Most people have had the opposite experience. I can only tell mine.

C1S is softer so absorbs rough roads better, and so is more comfortable. Both are good on dry performance for their categories -- though the C1S would feel slightly more grippy - but I'm not sure if the feel for more grip transelates to better performance. It could just mean the C1S is more soft.

C1S also is reactive to the road, so need more steering input. PP2 is less affected by road, so less steering input required. Both do not provide the kind of steering input I'd like for performance driving.

I think C1S has softer side-walls -- so it absorbs bumps better than PP2 -- but there is a cost. Some bumps can make the C1S move up and down (the Camry effect), where as the same bump would produce a sharp but short rise and drop on the PP2. So if you have a sports suspension you might want to consider what kind of end-result you're looking for.

Both tyres should last long - 30-40k km.

Hmm, not sure if I should publish this on the internet ... your NCT5s, do they have unever wear or anything that can warrant a warranty claim? Your NCT tyres are covered by warranty, but that is not public knowledge - or at least written explicitly.

My old NCT5 that came with the car had issues ... and the SC informed me that i can qualify for warranty claim. There is only one place that Honda goes for such a claim -- in Shah Alam-- where there is an official goodyear distributor (off the Kesas hi-com interchange towards shah alam, right on first traffic light). There, they will examine your tyre with tools and let you know if you qualify for a claim. If you do, they will take back your tyres using this formula:

Tyre price x % wear (you can negotiate for uneven wear)

Which I think is two or three times the value of trade-in. That place also sells other brands ... so you can use your warranty claim value as credit to buy new tyres. That's how I bought my PP2 from them -- and I paid the same amount as those trading in new tyres for PP2 at panel shops.

just got a set of C1S 3 days ago... it really less grippy comparing to the T1R.... and i feel it is not suitable for high speed driving as Camry effect is too obvious...

i will trade in the C1S for T1R again today Twisted Evil
i dont recommend C1S for those speed devils Twisted Evil

I just installed this tyre at Klang Hin Leong Cost me RM 340 for 205/55R16. One thing is my tyre vibrate after 130km/h maybe I need to do on-wheel balancing to resolve this. Well, this happened on my previous NCT5 also. Off-wheel balancing cannot solve the issue.

Hi guys...

Just to share... sometimes you need to break up the tire first. When I first change my PP1 to Yoko DB501... I had a shock when driving out. The feel is:
1) There is no road feel from the steering.
2) I also felt that the car is floating most of the time.

And, this had nearly made me want to go back to QS to change back my PP1. However, before that... I just give it a try... ie trash the tire a bit such as driving fast then brake hard... run the tire a while on the highway... Now, I'm quite satisfy - big difference in comfort + noise improvement, but at the expense of some grip + high speed confidence.

Nevertheless, in my next tire change... I'm looking for a slightly better grip at the expense of noise but not so much comfort...
Anybody got any recommendation?

All tyres have some form of wax coating on it. Most shops forget to tell their customers to be carefull druing break in. Hanging around tyre shops in my younger days seen lots of fender bender as people leave the shop thinking they'll get instant grip from their new purchase. On bikes its more dangerous though.

agreed...

roughly do a scrub/running in about 500km on the new tyres before whacking the corners. Very Happy
