Dear All,

Would like some feedback from all members here.
Been pretty fedup with Honda Service Centers lately.
I have the intermitten metal clicking sound and I have sent the car for checking 8 times already. Still not able to solve.

Since my car's warranty period is over, been thinking whether to do the regular servicing at a reputable service center ( not Honda ) or not. Of course, if need to change parts, will still go back to Honda.

Any members here doing like wise ?

Pls share your experience.
Need not be Civic, can be other non-national cars.

Just wondered whether, if not 100% service at Honda might affect resale value in future or there is not much difference. ( consumers can be rather picky )

Personally, I think Honda service is not good at all. The SA and engineers always tries to BullS... their way out of tight spots.

Want to weight the pros & cons.... Embarassed
Thanks.

yeah you'd be surprised at the attention given to your car out there, not to mention the much lower RM. I once sent to Lim Tayar just to change brake pads. Early morning. I was very happy. Thinking of going there again for the next oil change.

I don't think it really affect the resale value unless you sell to someone who is very particular about this. When I trade in my previous car (my car always services at the manufacturer service center), the value is the same from Honda.

I will send to Shell Auto-Serv.., (now called Bridgestone ACT )

I buy my tyre there.., and services all my other car there..

very happy with their service quality and details.

not to mention - addiitional 10% discount for staff.

their tyre alignment and balancing also good. I fill my tyre wit nitrogen.., when i purchased new set of tyre from them., and every 2-3 weeks i will go there to check pressure and refill nitrogen.

alignment- do 1 time.., pay rm20.., then if you're not satisfied - you can come back and they'll do it for free until u satisfied.

while waiting.. got lounge and wifi.. so happy.. can work and surf there.

eh.. iklan ka ni? no laa.. just sharing my experience only.

Dear All,

Thank you for your responses. Appreciate it! Mr. Green

I think I will do the servicing outside too.

Bro Morpheuzneo,
Eh..got staff discount ? You working for Shell?
Which Shell Auto Svc did you go to?
Any recommendation for Engine oil type?
Can bring non-shell oil there right? Just charge labour only..
Do I have to buy my own original Honda oil filter?

Thanks!

I go to Shell auto server Equine.. (behind Jusco Equine)

engine oil? I just use shell engine oil.. !

even now service at SC also.. i bring my own engine oil.. ! shell fully synthetic

If you want to bring your own oil.., I don't know whether that's allowed or not..

coz, they give package price.. which is quite cheap.

But anyway.. it's up to you yah!

me .., if come to major service.., i'll go source my own parts..and bring to SC..! save about half of the original cost.

(for example the 40k major service.. , supposed to cost around 900++ , i bring my own parts and engine oil.. , only cost me about 400++)

Personally I think for a car value over Rm100K, most of new owner will take a safe step to do it at SC..At least to secure the warranty..That is my personal opinion Very Happy

Once you got your ride, do it at SC until 50k Mileage then do it outside. JB got 1 mechanic specialist of servicing for Japanese cars..
as long involving wiring/engine that's very complicated e.g. ECU..pls do it only @ SC purely.
