Hey all, to those whom have gotten their baby, do you guys suffer from the sound mentioned at the front driver side? .... i had mine on 1st of June and the sound is there...anyone might have solved the problem?..inputs are very much appreciated...will visit the SC (service center) on friday and hope they can fix it..

The sound hereinafter mentioned is a particular annoying sound when u drive through bumps, small pot holes and uneven roads. It sounds as if something hitting the plastic area beneath the dashboard area....

And to those that have not gotten their car, pray hard that Honda Malaysia will solve this problem ASAP coz i think it affect lots of civics..not all..but i say about 90% of their released batch now...

at autoworld...they have found the solution but not official by Honda.

There is a guy named sibangau (if i didnt spell wrongly) have fix his Civic by welding the engine mount.

I think u would go check it at autoworld forum for more detail. Wink

my ride in my 2.0 has been smooth so far except for the very infrequent tak sound from my right driver side. Not sure whether it's the similar one faced by the 1.8 models. However it's rather infrequent and not easily reproduced. I think those are chassis noise and guess have to live with it. I also experience the "dup" sound on the front driver side when u drive over small potholes or on very bumpy road ( again very infrequent) . This is a soft sound but again I can say it can be considered a flaw in the current batch of civic ( or maybe prevalent among the 7th generation civic). Not too sure if honda can do anything about this or they may just end up tighthening some bolts and nuts of the suspension if you do complain to them. Any ideas anyone.Cheers Idea

err...i recall reading somewhere that 2.0s also the same problem..=)..forgot liao la..all i know is that stupid sound is there ..lol..well...its hard to get 2.0s ppl to get in ere..summore the production of 2.0s is soo darn slow..no much ppl own it now...i actually ordered 2.0s and need to wait at least until august to get my car..buy i go for 1.8s coz i got it in 3 weeks times..=)...one thing for sure..i asked my SC today when i send in for my 1K service..and 2.0s engine compartment is even tighter and ..imagine logically...1.8s engine compartment already soo small and the sound of knocking is there..ppl saying that it is cause by the mouting kit.....and i dunno la..i going to noblekey on monday to get mine fix..if can fix...then i recommend everyone to go there and get theirs fix too...

drthein..where u staying..wanna meet up and check on the noise together?

count me in if you guys are meeting up ..
i'm assuming that this noblekey is a general car repair shop? if so getting them to fix the noise if anything in future should happened .. Honda will void warranty on it.

mind sharing what do they actually do to fix the tak tak sound?

Noblekey is Honda Authorized Sevice Center..no worries if it would void ur car warranty..=)..

I did asked them how would they fix it..they told me on the phone that..they need to 3 hours to fix my problem and i forgot what they told me liao..but i think its something to do with the engine mounting kit....=)

At least good u guys stay at KL or Selangor area...can choose a better Service centre.

In Melaka only got 1 Honda Service centre...good or bad also have to turn to them.. Sad

Sad to say...their Service advisor not so good...like 'to fu' not aggresive when doing their thing...taking their own sweet time...Hard to imagine for those Melaka 1.8s owner who suffering 'tak-tak' sound always go meet them... Confused

This is exactly what WEGRO did to my car when I complaint about the "dup" sound....tighthening the nuts and bolts only. It doesn't solve the problem....

Count me in! I think HONDA should pay utmost serious attention to the issue as the sound really diminish the enjoyment as the day goes by....
