I am looking to replace my original set. Interested in the Koni FSD but out of my budget. Crying or Very sad

Would appreciate comments and feedback on comfort and handling (compared to stock absorbers). Many thanks Very Happy

SA is a non-coilover which is a one to one plug and play with the original suspension.

Being a non-coilover, there will be minimal noise just like the Konis and Mugens. However, the height and hardness cannot be adjusted.

The SA can be matched with the stock springs or lowering springs such as Eibach, etc.

However, there is not much ride reviews yet on this absorbers.

The SA does not come with any springs, however it comes with the necessary rubber seats i.e. no chopping of the OEM stock absorber rubbers are needed. Its 100% plug and play.

Be advised that the front would require the use of the original top mount.

Yau Exhaust our panel is currently taking in stocks and price will be RM860.00 only including installation and 1 year warranty from GAB Malaysis - serviced by Yau Exhaust as our panel merchant.

Anyone would like to be the beta tester for this GAB SA? Let me know. Very Happy

yes you are right - officially Yew Exhaust ... Boss is actually You or Yau ... some still call it the older Yau Yip, YY, Yau Exhaust and Yew Exhaust.

Yala Yala, old one must go, new one only will come, so FD stock suspension must go, GAB SA series only will come

so anyone can give any feedback on this GAB SA Series?

Will it be having the same comfort as stock with better handling?

Since this only cost less than 1k.

feel interested Razz

aiks... banyak off-topic...

anyways, anyone tried any GAB suspension with AVCS?

very curious about how does GAB suspensions's AVCS compare with Koni's FSD... Confused

for those who are interested to know more, the following are some info i got from GAB and Koni website...

__________________________________

GAB AVCS (Auto Valve Control System)
AVCS is an internal system that adjusts the stiffness of the suspension. It uses multiple layer valve spring to sense the road condition and automatically reduces or increase damping force according to the road condition and your driving style. The result is superior handling and maximum comfort on all road condition without having to manually tune or adjust the absorber.

Koni FSD
FSD is the abbreviation of Frequency Selective Damping. It is the latest technology of KONI, specifically designed to combine the ultimate in comfort and road-holding.

When the emphasis of a car’s performance is on the best possible road-holding, a lack in ride comfort is an automatic consequence when using conventional shock absorbers. Not so with the KONI FSD technology!

The groundbreaking FSD technology has been designed and patented by KONI to end the compromise between comfort and road-holding. This new feature can be used as an integrated part of the hydraulic valving system inside the damper. Consequently no additional cables, sensors, or any other electronic devices are needed to operate this system.

It operates fully hydraulic and frequency selective and is therefore an economical and effective solution to improving a car’s handling. It will give Ride and Handling Engineers a constructive, additional variable in fine-tuning the car’s behaviour.

Basically, comfort and handling can be split in two different frequency areas:
> For comfort, with the suspension moving in a high frequency area (± 10 Hz), asking for low damping forces.
> For handling, with the suspension moving in a low frequency area (± 1 Hz), asking for high damping forces.

If you are able to change the damping force level in relation to the frequency of the movement, you create the possibility to solve the conflict in terms of comfort and handling ever present in conventional dampers.

The KONI FSD technology does just that!

In standard shock absorbers the main damping characteristic is defined by the oil flow going through the piston assembly. (1)

Combining it with the FSD feature, KONI added a special valve (2), which controls an oil flow parallel to the one going through the piston rod. (3)

This parallel oil flow is closed by the FSD feature, giving a rise in damping force almost linear to the time that the piston is moving in one direction.

Put simply: the FSD feature is a hydraulic amplifier that delays the build up of pressure. One could say that an extra tuning option has been created in order to get the best possible combination of handling and comfort.

Since it is an integrated part of the hydraulic valve system inside the damper, no additional cables, sensors or any other electronic devices are needed to operate an FSD damper.

FSD is the simplest and most economic way to significantly improve the ride and driving characteristics of every car. Certainly in comparison with costly systems which work on the basis of computer technology, complex electronics and sensors.

Bro Netken,

You mentioned that Yew Exhaust is taking in stock of the GAB SA series. Does he have stock yet? If not, do you know by when he will take stock?

I might think of going for it lah due to the price Wink

any sponsors? I promise to give a detailed review (stretching my luck)... anyone? anyone?? Very Happy
