hi ed,

really? Shocked did your ecu over-ride your piggyback over time?

secondly, i noted the torque chart a little weird lo. ideally shld hv a flat-top curve shape with the max torque held on a plateau so dat u can hold the max torque over a rpm range.

are you sure? Wink have another look...

Hi Bro Ed,

Ya will perform another run in a while to see whether the piggyback gain will be loss...

As for the torque gain... it has a slight deep after 3000rpm and it go up again at 5000pm all the way to the max.. if we look at the bigger pic from from 3000pm onwards... meaning the chart that starts from 0 - 190 the torque stays at the region of 175 - 187.. which is consider quite at the top end right?

The torque curve looks wierd because the dip looks very big, but in reality the scale of the dip is very small.

Original output at 4000 rpm is about 97 bhp, but the new output at 4000 rpm (where it dips the most is) 175bhp. That's a huge hike for that region of the rpm needle.

I wonder how this car feels to drive... macam rocket? I'm sure you cannot pass this car to anyone else to drive ... better not. Cool

just sharing fr experience ...

the stock honda ecu has been known to be able to override the piggyback loop overtime ... in particular for unichip.

so going for a dyno run after 3-6mths is just to give u addn assurance & comfort everything still swee2x after tuning ... cos to retune aint cheap la. unless your tuner has found a way to override the closed loop system of the stock ecu.

do be aware the whp curve and torque curve should not show similar paths .... the whp curve normally goes towards a peak output just before the rpm cut and not at the rpm cut. and becareful not to misread the max whp reading when there is a "power spike".

the torque curve should move towards a max and plateaus (flat curve top) at the max for a rpm range then starts to reduce. it shouldnt resemble closely to a whp curve.

thirdly, be aware of anomalies on the curve such as uneven surges or downward dip sections on the curve cos it could be wrong ignition timing or wrong camshaft timing or vtc angle wrong ... so many possibilities. make the tuner correct it cos its ur right .

so look for these exceptions and start asking the tuner. ask him wat is the rpm cut he has set and see if the whp curve reads it lo ....

my 2cents la.

Hi Bro Blue,

I tot the stock torque output is at 188nm at 4800rpm...so i think the hike not that much but do feel more responsive though.

Hi Bro Ed,

Thanks for the advise, I think I get what you mean... let me try to do a dyno run after 6 months.. then if there are any issues after that will tell the tuner what to do... Mean while just drive around and enjoy first lo..

dude,

look again: it's just that the y axis scale for squall's torque chart was set to increments of 1Nm. here is what it looks like if set to 20Nm. looks pretty flat/good to me.

fyi: most unichip tuners only adjust air-fuel ratios, ignition timing and vtec switching for a NA FD2.0. don't think such tuning affects pre-set camshaft timing or vtc angles. Cool

Hi Bro fillet,

There will be slight increase in the engine sound from all this mod. I am using CTR exhaust therefore the sounds is quite mild unless you are in high rev...
