|
|
Dear Bros
I found out a Taiwan people using the small plastic pipe to DIY the sound proofing for the 4 doors. I just translate it to English and hope you all like it. (Note: I haven’t try it yet, cause still under wait periods) or you also can visit this Taiwan forums. They like to DIY by them self. (http://www.honda.club.tw/viewthread.php?tid=25165&extra=page%3D1%26amp%3Bfilter%3Dtype%26amp%3Btypeid%3D14&page=1)
Material/Tools
1. Small plastic pipe 60feet
Diameter 8mm and inner is 5mm (call it 5*
2. Baby powder
3. Plastic bag
4. Scissors
5. Dishcloth
Note: you can consider to do both side if you want, anyway this DIY only cover door side.

Review
Speed at 80km/h still no wind noise
Speed at 100km/h wind noise less a lot.
Speed at 120km/h you can hear the wind noise but much more better.
Try it ourself |

This is something interesting... I guess it expands the original rubber so that the door has a tighter seal..
just wondering, when you put the white tube on the inside of the rubber, won't it become loose or something? _________________ I love to honk at Keh Poh Chi! |

should be ok la, cause all the taiwan FD owner doing the same thing, so far didn't see anyone bad feedback from the forum. normally the tube can last for many year, even my first car proton wira also can
For my personal point of view.
this DIY is cheap and you can remove it anytime, I will try it once my car on my hand. (3 months...)
else go for viva product (RM128?)
haha... |

done some invest after reading the thread, yes there is some opening to insert the tube. Frankly, dont think even the 8mm (aquarium type) tube will do much as the tube itself is hollow and too soft. Probably t'row will try to further my research at some electronic hardware shop.......thinking of surgical silikone tube |

Yo bros,
I have bought the plastic pipe of 8mm mentioned above (RM12 only) and have successfully installed it. Havent really tested the outcome tough, but did feel pretty quiet when sitting inside as outside raining heavily now.
Still can close the door, but needs to be harder of coz (expected). It's not easy to push the pipe around the rubber ... *both thumb numb* now ....
Thanks for the sharing bro. *cheer* |

Ya...according taiwan forums, it only reduce wind noise not for tyres noise. I think the effect same like the product call viva.
According taiwan forums, they also got some thread for tyres soundproof. but big project haha...
Anyway, I believe you are the first one who do it. |

There is this door strip sold by a lowyat forummer. Material is similar to insuflex with adhesive too. Baru RM30 per box. Adequate for 4 doors (almost similar length with the Viva). |
