Hi Guys,
I just checked for the bodykit for my new "white boy" FD1 which is scheduled to be rolling off in Oct 09. The bodykit installer said that its better to fix an ABS bodykit as it is lighter than PU. According to him the PU bk is heavier therefore there will be obvious gap at the joint between the original body and the body kit on the long run . It will cost RM2000 to install the Mugen type bodykit including painting job. Do you'll have anything to say about this? Thanks in advance for your advice. Rolling Eyes

PP takde ke? PP is the lightest and the most flexible material for BK.search first until u satisfy and decide to install it.u also can get less than 2k for complete BK+mugen spoiler+painting+3months warranty on painting at GC (if u in KL)

Yup, agree with Bro archs2dio..Better go for PP..It is lighter..In fact our oem bumper also made from PP..

RM2000, does it include Mugen spoiler? I think GC Motorsport is selling cheaper..But considering your duit minyak to go down to KL, it is back to the square judgement..Better you do thorough search before make decision..

Not sure how to really differentiate but for me, I say PP is the best and all those mugen bodykits from GC are in that material.

PP material allows you to have more defined and accurate shapes on your bodykit. It is light, does not crack and paint stays on it relatively better. Because of this, the bodykit does not need a rubber lining between the bodykit and the connecting bumper.

The other type of mugen bodykits I see around are in PU. After extensive use, especially on the front paint will start peeling off. The bodykit also appears to be 'swollen' where all the shapes seem more rounded and less detailed. The biggest give away is u can see the rubber lining. This is especially obvious on cars that are in lighter color. One of the worse case I've seen for this type of BK is that the rear bumber touched the exhaust and melted all over it.

A positive note for PU is that it could possibly be more durable than PP. My PU V Lip kena hantam damn alot of times but still looking good after respraying!

Hope this helps....

Thanks a lot valsarin , i'll try to look for a PP since it has more points than the ABS & PU.

Yes i agree that PP is the best. U should look around all the different shops available in Ipoh before deciding bro. Or u can also check out our panel shops at the bottom of our Forum Index.

Btw, just want to ask is FRP same as ABS or PU?
