|

Hi guys, new to this "poisonous" forum. Excuse the n00b questions but i'm planning to upgrade my FD2s handling performance. What would be the most logical step? Ive read a lot here about Auto Foam and bars and suspensions but im wondering if anyone could help me decide what the ideal "package" would be without compromising on quality...Thanx guys.
Btw, comfort is not an issue |

If comfort is not an issue, you may want to try the GAB SS. Cost is very reasonable too at RM2800 at Yau Yip Exhaust (one of the panel merchants).
Autofoam only strengthen your chassis and may help to reduce some resonance which is good for a quiet ride. Besides, you may get a more comfortable ride. But even you get the track package, you will not outperform the handling improvement u get from changing the suspension. There are many packages to choose from. So, call Desmond of KL Auto for quotation.
As for bars, usually the recommended ones are the front tower bars (strut bar) and rear anti-roll bar. If you are fanatic and is not concerned about the risk of scrapping the bars, you can try the H-bars. Anyway, bars increase the weight of the car especially those from Ultra Racing. Summit is good and lighter (but much more costlier).
Lastly, the cheapest investment for handling and comfort will be the rubber dampeners. 1 pair for RM60 merely. Reduce bounciness especially when u go through the humps and more comfortable ride over the yellow strips. However, improvement in handling is marginal.
I have done everything that I have listed, except the GAB SS since my priority is comfort. Tested in my friend's car which is installed with the GAB SS merely and shodded with the GY F1 tyres. What I can say is that, his car can tapao my car at anytime at the corners. You can never defy the law of physics. There is always a compromise between comfort and handling.
Anyway, set your priority right so your investment can be appreciated in full without regret. |

EA Works at Bukit Jalil, KL. (RM60 per pair). By the way, can also try Sato at Ampang Water Front. (RM65 per pair). |

Yes, include installation. Please call Drex Chan (019-3593909) the boss there for directions and stock availability. You will not miss the only shop lots at Bkt. Jalil if you drive straight into the housing area after IMC. |

My friend who works for the Hypertune told me there shouldn't be any difference among bars as the design geometry is quite simple (unless u are talking about 2-point vs 3-point strut bars). However, built quality might differ among brands and the crashworthiness of the bars.
My opinion is u should get a bar that suits your budget. The C-tech looks more attractive than Ultra Racing. I think it is slightly cheaper too since the brand is quite new in the market. Saw one at Kaitenaz. |
