|
|
With a lot of us coming to end of warranty period, some of us may be wanting to bring our ride out to 3rd party or panel vendors instead of Honda SC. This is probably due to poor experience at Honda SC or their high prices. However, one question that is on my mind is ..
What can Honda SC provide that other vendors cannot?
So far, due to warranty, most of us did not consider taking our rides elsewhere ... even though we face bad service after more bad service. But is there something in terms of service that only Honda can do? Is there a calibration or tuning that only Honda SCs can do? Or can we safely leave Honda SCs. Sifus, please share your views. |

maybe....free coffee, air-con room, dvd movie, some sc provide light breakfast...just joking
well, i think, its matter of whether we have a truly trusted workshop or not. The only worry is whether they use original parts or not. Or, Second standard parts by your permission. |

After the warranty period, whether you still go to Honda SC or outside private mechanics , depends on a few factors...,
A. Maintain by SC.
1. The SC that you are currently going is reliable and very important the mechanics are well versed with our FDs.
2. You are able to pay for the price difference.
3. You dont mind the price difference cos you know you are getting genuine parts and de parts that you changed are also under warranty..eg. belts etc.
B. Private Mechanics
1. The person has good knowledge of de FD engine.( other wise its the trial and error way and finally we pay for time and money wasted )
2. Equip with essential tools.
3. Spare parts obtained must be genuine ( or you have to buy the parts yourself )
Well the final decision is yours and if you can safely say you do have a private shop that you can fully rely on then by all means go for it and maybe you can save some RM. I suppose in cities eg KL this is easier to find but not in small towns.
Just my humble opinion. Any other factors to consider ?? fellow forumers |

For me, after the warranty period will definetely not bring the Honda SC anymore. Because my brother in law is a foreman, so of course i will send to his workshop. :-)
No labor chanrge and parts are at cost price. :-) |

no experience with the japs, but for conti cars, the access to the diagnostic equipment will be the important factor esp. on complicated repair/troubleshoot or when your ecu needs to be updated/reflashed. |
