Allow me to ask a silly question. Don't you guys wondering, is the vibrate on pedal really ABS? Why is it only proved on uneven road surface? How does ABS feel on normal good road condition? Rolling Eyes

The reason i asked is because many bros here (including me) only feel and proved ABS work when the tyres run over uneven surface. Take a looks again on above posts. Idea

Besides, how to proved that the "traction control" is working? When I got my FD2, I usually see the light linking whenever went through water surface. But its hard to see once recently. A bit worry also. And believe that SC sure will say "its working" one.

Yes it is the same. How I know, I went for safety driving course. On normal road, had to break 60-0 in shortest distance. So pretty sure how ABS feels. Also did VSA test by going around a corner very hard at 80kmh both with and without VSA. Big difference.

with bro blue. experienced it too in Honda Safety Driving Course 2 month after got my ride. Feeling is the same..

My carpark's tiles get slippery everytime after raining...sometimes when I drove in with pedal a bit deep..the front wheels will get spining and so the VSA triangle icon lights up and engage...you'll hear funny weird sound coming from engine. The ECU cut fuel supply and apply brake to the wheels which detects a spin. Thats the method I test my VSA working or not.

My ABS safe me on Federal HW today by avoiding a stup1d Camry cut line without signal and noticing me.

Later I found out he is talking on the phone without handfree. Can't tahan this type of rich bastard.

No doubt VSA was perfectly an active safety feature in our FDs but when one of the sensors go rosak....especially after warranty.....then you'll feel the pain. I wonder how durable of those VSA sensors.

I am not quite sure now. Because the vibrate kind of pedal feel always kick in whenever I brake at uneven road surface even though i was driving slow. But not the case few times emergency brake at LDP. I thought ABS is help to avoid wheels jam whenever we brake too hard to slow down the car from high speed. Rolling Eyes

nice thread going on here...

the VSA & ABS function is monitored using the same single sensor which is attached near the brakes area for each wheel.

more often than not, both VSA & ABS work to complement each other ....

the sensor is very sensitive cos internally its just a very very fine copper wire, if i m not mistaken. nonetheless, if this sensor is no longer functioning both the vsa & abs checklight will come out.

it costs around rm360/sensor to replace it.

VSA typically works to prevent wheel slip situation to keep your car in steady motion .... ABS works to prevent locking of ur wheels ... thus prevent skidding. and yes, the ABS & VSA can be rather sensitive.

pls drive safely & dont la so itchy test the car all the time to activate.

Ed, you nail it on the head there, " dont be itchy " n test yr ABS/ VSA every now and then. You will end up RM360 PER sensor poorer...mind you its not only one sensor ....many. So if the ABS / VSA lights dont blink , then its working fine. Remember, Dont trouble trouble until trouble troubles you. Just my opinion.

Agreed. ABS is supposed to be a last ditch effort to save your life, not a "feature" for normal daily use.

No need to keep trying if it works. Just like you don't need to test your airbag every now and then....
