Dear all bros and sistas.

i was just wondering whether have any of us here encountered a problem when claiming a warranty for Wheel Bearings / Steering Rack / Drive Shaft problems after installing your Civic with 18" wheels?

i tried to call my friend whom is a Service Manager from one of the Honda SC here in Klang Valley...he merely asked me to check with the SC. What if i went to the SC and they said i cannot claim because i have changed my rims?

anyone managed to claim for warranty for those parts at any SC even though they have changed their rims to 18 inchers? hope you all can help.

btw, the problem with my car is whenever i turn my steering wheel to the corner most right, and i step on the pedal to turn out from the junction, there's a "kruuk kruuk kruuk" sound coming from the left front wheel area...i suspect it's the bearing's problem...anyone encountered the same problem? please share ya...

thanks!

barely a few days after discovering the problem, it is now getting worse!! Not only the sound comes when i was steering my car to the right, it comes everytime when i start to move after making a complete stop, be it at the traffic light / at a junction...omg...i'm starting to lose faith in my baby civic FD2... :-(

I pity you bro. Do you still have yr stock rims? If you do, pls
by all mean install it back b4 sending it over to yr SC, otherwise,
it'll all depending on yr luck.

Maybe some bros here could share which SC got no prob with
this kind of claim...where are you from, so that, our bros/Sifus
could advise the right SC nearby.

Honda Service Centre thread would be a stepping stone for you...?

bro neilfyre,

thanks a lot for ur reply and ur suggestions, i appreciate it a lot...i tried to read the topic Honda Service Centres but to no avail... :-(
they merely mentioned which SC is the best and which one is not so good...

nope, i don't have my original 17 inch rims anymore... :-( i'm having a big headache now...i don't think that my problem is caused by my new 18 inchers though...seems like a lot of bros here have had problems similar to mine even when their cars were still new...

i hope that our bros here have managed to find a SC which is good enough to claim a warranty for the faulty parts that i am facing right now without taking into account that i'd already changed my rims to 18 inches...

please help... :~(

I started to complain on my steering prob.

dear all bros and sistas,

finally went to the SC named Peringgit Motors and met with a Service Adviser called Peter Lim. He's a nice fine young chap and is helpful enough to check with me to determine the problem that my car was facing as all the mechanics there were busy.

after testing, he told me that the "kruuk kruuk kruuk" sound didn't come from the ball bearing / steering / drive shaft of my car, and it was either due to the Air Intake not installed properly / the exhaust system as he can feel that the sound is coming from the engine compartment.

by then, i remembered i had just done some modifications to my already installed Type-R exhaust!! i think that's the culprit! maybe the sound was due to the exhaust piping hitting the base of the engine / under-carriage when i accelerate my car! i will go back to the exhaust shop to check later this afternoon! wish me luck bros!

gonna fix my baby civic soon! thanks all bros that show your concerns and hope that all your problems will be solved soon!

cheers!
