im sure there are alot of forummers using this tyres currently, and would apprecaite if you guys can share what's ya tyre pressure setting currently running on ya ride that can unleash the best performance of this tyre .. Wink

please share your tyre size as well .. thanks

I'm using 225/45/R17, 33 or 34 PSI

i hv been on these tyres coming to 10mths now.... same spec as blue ...

tyre walls a bit soft so suggest for front its 34psi and back 32 or 33 depending on your preference. you will fell better control & handling. ... i think leon share the same feedback as well

im just started rolling with this tyres for a week .. so far only covered 500km only haha .. opt for this tyres when i changed my 17' rims pair with 215/45/17 ..

so far my psi reading is front 32 rear 31 (during cold) .. maybe im not too used to the 17' low profile tyres i guess .. feels abit bumpy thats why need more feedback from sifus here Wink

won't u guys feel it's abit bumpy with 34 psi ?? how do u guys find about the quietness of the tyres ? is it bearable ?

im not sure why .. eversince i changed the rims and tyres .. i've been getting this "whoongg whoongg" sound from the wheel itself .. and the sound gets louder if i accelerate .. could it be the tyres still new ?? that's why im wondering am i running on wrong psi for the tyres that causing the sound .. You're on 215, ed and I are on 225- different width and height. Hence higher PSI for us will still be more comfy than lower PSI for yours. If you wish, you can try a lower PSI (like 30) for more comfort at your configuration. But I believe you need to check the pressure more frequently then to not allow it to reach 28.

The whoong whoong noise sounds concerning. There's a thread about this on the "Brand New Civic Issues" discussion forum. Head on over there and diagnose your issue.

Quietness of the tyres, for me, it was surprisingly bearable, considering these are ultra high performance tyres. But then again, I have not heard the 215 tyres -- but I suppose they should be quieter than the 225.

as for the whoongg whoonngg sounds it does sound concerning to me as well since my car is still new .. and the sound only surfaced after i upgrad my rims from 16' to 17' though .. so i would reckon couldnt be ball bearing or suspension issue .. most probably got something to do with the rims or the tyres itself ..

normally those who have upgraded from 16" to 17" will definitely feel its slightly noisier.

thats what my fren experience when he upgraded too from 16 to 17 and i agree.

for those who are already on 17" like me, i strongly believe its much quieter than the ori PP1 and also Yoko (after 20k of usage) but of course the current mileage i have been using is about 9k only.

17 above tend to have some slight tyre noise esp. when going on slow speeds and as it tends to wear off it will have a have higher noise levels at high speed too.

225 will definitely bring out even more noise as the width theory suggest. i don't think its the rim or suspension or ball bearing since you notice the noise right after the tyre upgrades.

drive it abit more and join TTs, and we prolly can know the source.

for 215 - i am running about 31 psi, when it heats up, it will be at 34 psi.

careful about the sidewall, its definitely thinner than the yokos i have use before. but the grip during wet and dry is admirable.

however just for info, what rims have u upgraded to? new or used?

Bro, you still in Taiping? Or coming down KL anytime? If you're around, come join our TT or AD. Then can see what you mean. Otherwise, as Netken usefully pointed out, if you just move from 16 to 17, you will find certain things noisier, less uncomfortable. But, this is not a problem.

my PP1 is really really unbearable noise now (almost botak)

they will sing 'wrr.... ggggggggggghhh....' song when i pass those uneven tar surface

esp annoying when i jz wanna drive slowly n relax after a heavy lunch on slow lane

food in stomach hopping up n down like washing machine....damn! Evil or Very Mad

congrats .... the whong2x sound i experienced when i was cornering beyong the intended speed, so perhaps a sign for u to go slower.

my initial tyre pressure was same like yours (but mine 225/45/17) but i found the cornering lacking ... mainly softer tyre walls compared to my old B/stone RE001s. so increased it a bit... its just personal preference. and this tyre is a tad noisier when new ... at least for 1st 2000km.

i hv been on them for like 10mths ... done easily 18k km on it. so far so good. got used to these tyres. dry grip is alrite la ... comparable to the RE001s but wet grip is the best.

after 2000km mileage if u find the tyre noise still intrusive, u may wanna consider SP your 4doors .... and if still not tolerable, SP the inner fender tyre walls (the banna cover plastic fr the inside la)

Bro Ed, I somehow find mine silentleh ... maybe cos I double SP the front doors and fenders ... still, they're not too bad compared to the RS.

BTW, what is the official tyre pressure recommendation for these tyres. I'm reading all kinds of figures on the net. One guy even said he went up to 40 PSI (he is using rule of thumb Max PSI - 20%).

In any case, just curious, but I'll try your config and see how it feel. The goodyear RS was much stiffer on the side-walls, so comparably, the Assymetrics has softer side-walls, but is not as soft as say the C1S.

Another thing, can these tyres ever lose grip? I'm trying more and more stunts, and it just doesn't even squeak ... unless I make a steering mistake during a corner. I feel like going on a roller coaster at times, with a big smile on face -- always bring out the little child in my heart.

hmm i guess it could be the case that im still not used to the 17' rims gua .. haha since all this while im running on 15' on my 2 other rides .. needs time to adapt to the increase in width of the tyres .. btw im running on brand new volk CE28N replica .. 17 x 7.5jj offset 40 Smile

i wish i can join this friday TT but alraedy got appointment with frens for karaoke session at Pavillion .. maybe next round .. will certainly learn more stuff from u guys if any sifu can have a ride on my car and help point out what's the sound all about Wink

hmmm mine whoong2x sound is there as long as the wheels are rolling .. and i drive pretty slow indeed .. i personally think that the sound comes from the front only .. but as what u mentioned it needs time to run in .. maybe give it another 2000km to heat up
