Type R engine start push button

Dead giveaway will be the boot cover keyhole. Type R dun have. So if you wanna mod, you gotta plaster it over (or change the whole boot lid). Then you gotta change your key to the type R one with the remote boot release. Then you gotta change the alarm to enable you to use the boot release. Since change key, must re-key in the immobiliser also.

Interior all different. Look from outside and see blue dashboard, potong steam... Must change to the red one.

Seats also.

Outside, another difference (but not so obvious) are the side fenders. They are wider than the standard civics.

Someone already mentioned the bonnet.

Change gearbox to manual also. (along with the engine)

Is it worth it?

One more thing, your door mold has a chrome strip.

Type-R dont have. Some people have plastered and re-sparayed over it so no more chrome...

but honestly leh...I think most of us here can spot a fake type-r when we see one...not to say i am against it but just stating facts.
