My FD2 has clockd 55,000 kms and this week I noiced that there is a low frequency whoooongggg sound that is continuos whenever I go above 80km/h. And it seems to come from the rear.

Any idea what could it be? I did a visual inspection and there does no seem to be any problem with the tyre - i.e. it is not out of shape etc.

I sent my car to the SC this morning.

They checked all 4 bearings, no problem. They did not find out what is the real cause.

I guess I will have to send it to a tyre shop for them to look at it.

Anyone here has a good tyre man in Subang or Kota Kemuning to recommend?

Went to one of the tyre shops close by.

It seems that the driver side rear wheel has uneven wear. The outer side of the tyre is thinning but the threads are still there.

Any idea what causes this?

It is definately not a bearing problem since the sound grows louder and softer depending on the road surface. If it is the bearing, the sound will be consistent.
