Dear bros and sisters,

Just simple query from a nooby here.. Do we need to push the button on the gear knob as we change the gear level?? e.g from D to D1 or R to D..
The reason I ask this question coz once I saw my friend change his gear without pushing the button.. I query his action but he replied "no problem ma.." Was it true? no problem to our gear box meh??

You only need to press the button to on certain gears.

For example, N to R, R to P, P to R and D to S(FD2)

Changing from the following does not require you to press the button. R to N, N to D, D to N and S to D (FD2)

I think all these should be stated in the User Manual of the car. I think I remember seeing it somewhere before. I think you should check it out if you still have doubts.

There is a table in the manual summarised every gear shifting need press the button. Go check it out.
