I was supposed to change the Fuel Filter at 40K major service (cost around RM300+). . .unfortunately my amplifier board right behind the rear seat is blocking their way to access to the filter.

Is is mandatory to change the Fuel Filter every 40K ... & any bro with amplifier board encounter same prob?

SA advise me to unwire the amps 1st and remove whole board if can... coz no other ways to access the filter...sigh =(

Alamak, bro, you should have gotten yourself a K&N drop-in instead. Almost the same price as the ori. And it lasts you a lifetime

Thats the pro abt drop in... if SC is fussy and want to claim warranty, just drop out the filter and drop in the stock

Why is there a need to change the Fuel Filter at 40k mileage? My previous cars also never change it at 40k...

Used to drive a Swift til 60k mileage, no change for fuel filter.
Then older Wira, 5 years also never had that changed (not even recommended in service booklet).

this is one of the benefit joining club like this.

If not - forever we didn't know..

Like myself.., I did change the fuel filter at 40k.. but I buy the filter outside.. (original lah) .. only half the price of what honda sc quoted.

but i did take back the old fuel filter.. and show it to me mechanics friend who owned 3 garage.. - his analysis.. -> no need to change at all..!! only little debris which didn't affect your fuel pump flow and performance.

so.. , insist of not changing the fuel filter until 100k or 80 k.. maybe just check.

but - some of us (including me) are so scared .. if not followed the schedule.. might void warranty? that's why laa most of us go and follow only..

so.. now you know aaa? Very Happy..

Within the warranty period, I just follow the recommended maintenance schedule for parts and service.. reason being, if and when need to do warranty, no issues or dispute as I follow strictly to the schedule.

As some of you know, there are quite a few things that might need to claim.. eg. wiper arm+blade, engine mount, vsa sensor, a-pillar cover, brake pad etc etc.. at the end of the day, consider still worth it compared to sourcing own parts.

After warranty period, different story lah.... Wink
