Which SC should i go? Would the result be better compare to outside windscreen shop or another way round? I just dont want in the end it give me troubles.... any better suggestion?

Hey bro, sorry to hear about your case.
Well, I guess I'm not alone in this case..my ride is with the USJ SC now replacing my windscreen also. Was very unlucky yesterday while driving on a highway and a small stone hit my main windscreen.
It was a small crack (almost not visible) but after lunch when I went back for my car, the cracks look like spider man's home already.
Called the USJ SC and got my car to be fixed today. No stock on the windscreen so only able to collect my ride tomorrow b4 lunch. Now, I'm looking everywhere to find my V-Kool Certificate cause SC told me can claim back tinting as well.
If I can't find my cert, i'll have to pay for my own tinting...zzzzz
Anyway, give the USJ SC a call and see when they can replace it for you. Quality wise, I think it should be the same glass for FD's. Just need to make sure the workmanship is good. I'll let u know if they've done a good job by tomorrow.
Cheers |

for windscreen i believe it is always better to change back at the SC
they may charge higher for labour and parts, but at least they are genuine parts, besides the windscreen there could be clips, moulds and quality silicon glues to be used ... so SC is prolly the best bet, they would prolly also have experience since civic is an 06 model.
best of all, your warranty will continue and you could screw the SC for any problems, e.g. leaking damaging your dash etc ... compare to outside, if you fixed it outside, but later complaint its leaking, sure SC would not cover any warranty or further damaged parts ..
if its insurance - ppl always go back to SC - unless u wanna hanky panky make high claim, but use substandard parts outside and pocket the difference ...
just my 2 kupang cents . _________________

if you have paid 150 windscreen insurance , u shouldn't pay more as it already insured . The windscreen cost 1000 ringgit .
i'm using tokio-marine insurance and it stated in the policy that i no need to pay anything if the windscreen got damaged .
if u need to pay them , then u got cheated . Otherwise please check with insurance company
please correct me if im wrong |

Dear Kevler,
Are you sure that Tokio Marine include for windscreen insurance?
As I know that we need to buy the insurance right??? 15%...
If no, then we need to buy our own wind screen and install outside...
I know where to install and get original wind screen at good bargains...

Make sure your windscreen is insured before replace.
Get the proper documents from insurance company, require photograph need to be taken at the area of windscreen crack, stone chips or etc, together with your vehicle car plate.
Photo to be taken after windscreen replacement together with the vehicle carplate.
Receipt of replacement to be submitted(if you replace at workshop not listed under your insurance company panel)
Probably you need not pay anything if you replace at your insurance panel listed workshop.
Other than insurance company listed workshop, you may need to pay and get your money back from insurance company.
Better also verify with your insurance company whereby in what condition the windscreen is eligible to replace. |
