Am wondering. Is it necessary to change oil filter at 5K service? I'm taking my ride in on Saturday for 5K service. |

Hi bros, need to find out some stuff as I'm sending my car tomorrow for 5K service (slightly late after a month)
Should I change the oil filter?
Should I change to Semi-sync or stay on mineral?
Any other recommendations to consider for my 5K service? |

Hi bros, did my 5k service last Saturday at the USJ SC, I could not fix an appoinment earlier, so just walk in there around 7.30am.
The service advisor was a nice and helpful lady, she said that she can give my car at 1pm only. However, I requested that I want at 11am.She said she will try to squeeze in the queue. Finally, get back my car at 10.45am.
Total Cost for replacing the Semi Synthetic Oil,Oil Filter and Windscreen washer was at RM56. I think its quite expensive....they charge RM27 for oil filter!!
However,I generally feel that this place is much more better than the Millenium Auto, which I went for my 1k service. |

same goes mine RM 56 , semi oil, oil filter windscreen washer just a top up not really total replacement. But I saw something odd that my driver side interior heat sealed fibre roof got scratches...peeling out hairs looks.
For me, every centers got great technicians and a bit careless person, depend on lucks sometimes.
When previous 1st time service, got something similiar oil stain at interior passenger side roof. Just a touch...how well owner take care is gone... snap pic b4 service another way to eliminate argument..
really KNN.
Btw, I'm not sure that certain center just purposely do for sack of reduce the amount of work load by pushing the customer miagrate other place or not..
IF my theory is true, then better go to the SC which less amount of work load.. or appointed at less heavy load date.
Like any hypermarket casher counter, when particular lane crowded with full trolley and Q up more customers with huge goods, then the casher may slow down a bit to let backend customers move to another counters..
Somebody told me that b4 left SC , try to inspect everything by your own b4 left ...inspect in details .. detail.... detail...3 time emphasis.
Take care bro ! _________________ civic568 |

As far as I know follow std maintainance list from HM, 1 km nothing change and every digit 5 mean 5 km, 15 km, 25 km, 35 km, no oilter changed and std oil filter replacement recommended every 10K km from HM. If customer keep silent, they will go as per std procedure list for all HM SC.
You may double check this with SC, if really they replace oil filter at 5km and 1 km with FOC...meant you got luck.
Just share which SC can get FOC oil filter replacement at 1km and 5 km , 15 k km SC...I may try my luck too ..he..he..
.. yes mineral oil is FOC..but some member upgrade to semi- syn...so have to pay a bit...
Semi syn oil definitely give a severe ride ..much depend on owners preference.. _________________ civic568 |

A bit fast acceleration response during pick up from idle..compare mineral fully organic oil
I was always extremely very light right foot on driving habit. ...after getting more older and much preserve fuel usages.
If driving style in moderate or heavy right foot by all mean just to be front line after green traffic light, it may or may not feel the differential. _________________ civic568 |
