You can start to dampen and soundproof (double layer) your front doors which will definitely give you more mid bass and a little bit of improvement on stage height. Depending on the type materials, it will cost u between RM200-RM500.
Not enough ummph, perhaps you may want to look for amplification and upgrading the speakers. Think carefully whether u would like to retain the original HU or not. The ori HU doesn't yield a flat response and it produce a peak at approx 5khz and a dip at approx 100hz. So, for hardcore audiophiles, they will definitely look for change of HU. A cheaper alternative would be using a high low converter that should not cost more than RM100 depending on the brands.
As for myself, I love the ori looks for my car, so I opt for the JL Audio Clean Sweep which I got it cheap. Doesn't want a subwoofer that adds on weight to the car, I got myself the Focal K2 Power UV for the front stage and bass is definitely adequate to my liking. Dynamics and fast are my music quality preference. The comp speakers are amplified by the Arc Audio XXK4150 bridged at 2 x 320W. My trusted installer is CV Kuchai Lama.
If you are afraid being potong leher, you may want to post the quotes here and let forummers think whether the items are reasonable priced. As far as I know, CV retails a lot of Alpine stuffs and I'm sure u can get it cheaper there. For lower end products from Kenwood & Sony, you can source from Brothers. But do not let their Indons touch your car as their installation quality is pretty bad (unless u don't have much expectation).
As a beginner, I think u should dampen the door first and see whether u are happy with that. Perhaps, if you lay down your budget and your music preference, I guess most forummers will be able to give u some of their pieces of mind. |
Thanks bro for some enlightenment....
So your setup now cost approx how much... |

Bro Robinhood, Can advise how and what materials you used for dampening the doors?
Single layer or dual?

Me used RM460 to dampen the front doors. Double layer. Dynamat Extreme at the outer layer and Damp It at the inner layer. Choose damping materials that could be peeled of without causing a mess at the inner layer (in case of problems with your power windows in the future). Dynamats are good but it will be messy if u stick them at the inner layer. |
